Anthony Cowdrey

Anthony 'Tony' Cowdrey was born and raised in New Mexico.  Tony's artistic interests were obvious from an early age - drawing as soon as he could hold a pencil and painting soon after. However, dogged by the notion that you can't make money as an artist, he joined the Navy at 18 to escape the employment desert of Roswell in the 80s

After leaving the military, Tony moved around the United States, settling in Florida to start a family and embark on a new career. Earning a degree in digital art from St. Pete College, he found work as a proofreader, warehouse worker, and web designer before a stint at a tiki mug shop reinvigorated his love for art and ignited a continuing passion for ceramics

A longing for the desert and a simpler life brought Tony back to New Mexico, and a stroke of luck landed him in Smuggler's Roost
